honeybeadjewelry.com

I've made a couple of recent efforts at advertising our site.

Two substantial and I hope promising venues out there are Froogle and Edge IO. Froogle, as you can guess, is owned and operated by Google - need I say more? Edge IO is relatively new from what I can tell but in a similar vain. Here are the links to both sites where you can find Melissa's products - check it out:

Froogle: Honeybeads, Jewelry by Melissa

Edge IO:Honeybeads, Jewelry by Melissa

I also submitted some xml feeds to Googles Sitemaps - hopefully this will improve Google's indexing of our site - we'll see...

More to come...

Big updates...finally done!

Well, the site has been updated...again. I uploaded a couple of days ago. Let me know what you all think. I added a community page for latest blogs, daily devotions, and news headlines. The daily bible verse can be found here. I revised the guestbook - check it out. I also added an articles page. If you've written any articles lately ;), send it to me an email and I'll publish it!

Along with the cosmetic changes, I've tried to optimize the site for speed. Let me know how fast the page loads are on your connections (ours is DSL and pretty fast - it's hard to tell how slower connections will handle the site).

I'd love to hear some feedback and any suggestions/ideas you might have. Until then, I've got to get to bed :o God bless!

My, how time flies...

Well, I was up until 1 am last night (this morning) working on the website. I spent about two hours on the popup windows that are displayed when you click on the color chart, birthstone chart, or clasp selection within the store. Someone on a forum had pointed out to me that the popups didn't work properly in Netscape. Oh yes, that's right. When designing your web sites, keep in mind that it may look and operate exactly like you want when you preview it in Internet Explorer, but they're are other browsers out there. Opera, mozilla, Netscape to name a few...

So anyway, I downloaded the Netscape browser, fired it up and went to the Honeybeads Store and - ugh! The dude was correct. So I spent the next two hours tweaking my code to work on both browsers. A perfect example of how something so seemingly simple - open a window looking the way you want it to - can be such a time consuming endeavor. Especially if you don't know what your doing and just fumbling along like me...
