This is a Korean entry into the genre shared by the likes of Ju-on, Ringu, and The Eye. This one is about a newspaper reporter who changes her cell phone number because she is getting threatening phone calls. Unfortunately, the number she changes to is on some creepy dead chicks speed-dial and the main character, Ji-won, starts seeing things - namely, creepy dead chick.
This was actually a pretty good flick. It is a plot driven movie, much more so that Ju-on or Ju-Rei but it has some nice scares, too. The production quality is excellent and the acting is some of the best I've seen from the Asian horror line-up. The performance from the very young girl who plays a central role in the film is outstanding. She does a short scene at the end that rivals Linda Blair's skills at portraying demon possesion and this Korean girl appears to be half of Blair's age.
You'll definitely want to add this to your Blockbuster or Netflix que and it's not a bad one to add to the library either. Be warned, it is very slow paced. My only criticisms are that the ending could have been shot in about 1/3 the time they took. Once the big "reveal" starts, you pretty much have it down but the director shows it to us in detail anyway. This hurt the momentum of the film, I think.
